About This Knife

Introducing the Deep Current — a striking, narrow-profile cleaver hand-forged from premium Damascus stainless steel, featuring a distinctive dotted wave pattern that flows across the blade like ripples on water. The approximately 7.5-inch blade delivers excellent edge retention and rust resistance, making it a reliable, eye-catching addition to any kitchen or camp setup.

The approximately 5-inch handle is crafted from swirling blue resin, capturing deep ocean-like tones that catch the light beautifully. A polished steel bolster and brass pin accents complete the refined design, offering both durability and a bold, artistic aesthetic that stands out from ordinary kitchen tools.

Each Deep Current cleaver comes with a hand-tooled genuine leather sheath, featuring an embossed vine pattern, secure snap closure, and belt loop for safe storage and effortless carry.

Whether you're a home cook, professional chef, or collector who appreciates fine Damascus craftsmanship, the Deep Current combines striking design, dependable performance, and rugged everyday functionality in one standout piece.

Care & Maintenance

Cleaning & Storage
Hand wash only with warm water and mild soap. Never place a high-carbon or Damascus steel blade in a dishwasher. Dry immediately with a soft cloth. Store in a dry environment, ideally out of the leather sheath for long-term storage to prevent moisture retention.
Oiling the Blade
High-carbon steels will naturally patina over time, which adds character and protection. To prevent rust, apply a light coat of food-safe mineral oil or camellia oil after every use. For wood handles, occasional treatment with beeswax or boiled linseed oil will preserve the lustre.
Sharpening
Maintain the edge between uses with a ceramic honing rod. When it is time to sharpen, we recommend Japanese water stones (1000/3000 grit) maintained at a 15-20 degree angle per side. Avoid pull-through carbide sharpeners, as they remove too much steel and can chip the hard edge.
