About This Knife

Introducing the Talon Ring — a distinctive hand-forged skinner knife featuring a High Carbon Damascus blade with rich, flowing wood-grain patterns unique to every piece. The approximately 4.5-inch drop-point blade delivers excellent control and precision, making it ideal for skinning, detail work, and everyday outdoor tasks.

The approximately 5-inch handle combines genuine bone and black G10 micarta, finished with a striking red gemstone-accented pin and a signature finger ring pommel carved from Damascus steel and bone for added grip security and control during use. Brass and steel pins secure the construction for lasting durability, while the compact, ergonomic shape fits comfortably in the hand.

Whether you're a hunter, outdoorsman, or collector who appreciates fine hand-forged craftsmanship, the Talon Ring combines functional design with eye-catching detail in one complete package.

Steel Care Instructions:
High carbon Damascus steel offers superior sharpness and edge retention but is not stainless, meaning it requires regular care to prevent rust and corrosion. Wipe the blade clean and completely dry after every use, and apply a light coat of mineral oil or dedicated knife oil before storage, especially in humid climates. Never store the knife inside its sheath while damp, and avoid prolonged exposure to moisture. Please note: this steel type can develop surface rust more quickly than stainless alloys if not properly maintained. Damage caused by rust or corrosion due to improper care is not covered under returns or exchanges.

Care & Maintenance

Cleaning & Storage
Hand wash only with warm water and mild soap. Never place a high-carbon or Damascus steel blade in a dishwasher. Dry immediately with a soft cloth. Store in a dry environment, ideally out of the leather sheath for long-term storage to prevent moisture retention.
Oiling the Blade
High-carbon steels will naturally patina over time, which adds character and protection. To prevent rust, apply a light coat of food-safe mineral oil or camellia oil after every use. For wood handles, occasional treatment with beeswax or boiled linseed oil will preserve the lustre.
Sharpening
Maintain the edge between uses with a ceramic honing rod. When it is time to sharpen, we recommend Japanese water stones (1000/3000 grit) maintained at a 15-20 degree angle per side. Avoid pull-through carbide sharpeners, as they remove too much steel and can chip the hard edge.
