Terms of Service

Last updated: 30-08-2026

These terms govern your use of this website and any order you place with us. By using the site or buying from us, you agree to them.

Who we are
HandForgedWork is operated by HandForgedWork LLC. Throughout these terms, "we" and "us" mean that company; "you" means the person using the site.

You must be 18
Our products are bladed items. You must be at least 18 years old to buy from us. By placing an order you confirm that you are, and that you are ordering for yourself or for another adult.

We may refuse or cancel any order where we have reason to doubt this.

Your account
You're responsible for keeping your password private and for anything done through your account. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has access to it. You may close your account at any time.

Our products
Every piece is forged and finished by hand. That means:

No two pieces are exactly alike. Grain, patina, handle figure and finish vary from one to the next.
Photographs show the type of piece you're buying, not the exact item, unless the listing says otherwise.
Dimensions and weights are close but not laboratory-exact.
Colours can look different from screen to screen.
These variations are the nature of hand work, and they are not defects.

We describe our products as accurately as we can. If a listing contains a clear error, we'll correct it — and if you've already ordered, we'll tell you and let you cancel for a full refund.

Prices and payment
All prices are in US dollars and include shipping.

We accept PayPal and card payments. Payment is taken when you place the order. Import duties are covered by us for some destinations and by you for others — our Shipping Policy explains exactly which.

We may change prices at any time, but never on an order already placed.

If a product is listed at an obviously wrong price — a decimal in the wrong place, a $300 knife at $3 — we're not obliged to sell at that price. We'll cancel and refund you in full, and we'll tell you why.

When a contract is formed
Your order is an offer to buy. The order confirmation email is an acknowledgement that we received it, not acceptance.

The contract is formed when we accept your order and begin work on it, or when the parcel ships — whichever comes first. Until then we may decline any order, for any lawful reason, and refund you in full. That includes orders we can't lawfully ship to your destination.

Made to order and custom pieces
Where a piece is made to order, the production time you select is an estimate, not a guarantee. Hand work occasionally takes longer — a failed heat treatment, a cracked handle scale. If your order is going to run late, we'll tell you rather than let you wonder.

Custom-built and personalised pieces are made to your specification and cannot be returned. Please check your spelling, measurements and choices before you confirm.

Shipping, returns and warranty
Our Shipping Policy, Returns & Refunds Policy and Lifetime Warranty form part of these terms. Please read them — they set out delivery times, what you can return, and what we'll put right.

Your local laws
Knife laws differ from country to country and sometimes from state to state. You are responsible for knowing what you may lawfully import, own and carry where you live.

We do not ship to the United Kingdom. Some other destinations require permits for certain blade types, and obtaining one is your responsibility. If customs seizes or destroys a parcel because the item is restricted where you live, we cannot refund it.

By ordering, you confirm the item is lawful for you to receive and that you will use it lawfully and safely.

Safe use
Our blades are sharp working tools. Handle, store and maintain them responsibly, and keep them away from children. We are not liable for injury or damage resulting from misuse, careless handling, or use of a piece for something it wasn't built for.

Reviews and anything you post
If you post a review, photograph or comment, you keep ownership of it but give us permission to display and use it in connection with our shop.

Don't post anything unlawful, abusive, dishonest, or that isn't yours to post. We may remove content that breaks this rule, and we may remove reviews we can't match to a genuine order.

Our content
The text, photographs, logo, product names and design of this site belong to us. You may not copy, reproduce or use them commercially without our written permission.

You're welcome to share links to our pages and to photograph a piece you own and post it wherever you like.

Wholesale
Wholesale and B2B orders are subject to a separate agreement, which takes precedence over these terms where the two differ.

Things outside our control
We're not responsible for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control — natural disasters, war, epidemics, strikes, carrier failures, customs delays, power or internet outages, or government action.

Limits on our liability
We stand behind what we make. Our Warranty and Returns policies set out what we'll repair, replace or refund, and we honour them.

Beyond that, our total liability for any order is limited to what you paid for it. We're not liable for indirect or consequential losses — lost profit, lost time, or loss of opportunity.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud. Nothing here affects your statutory rights as a consumer under the law of your own country.

The site itself
We do our best to keep the site available and accurate, but we don't guarantee it will always be online or error-free. We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of it.

Suspending accounts
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, attempts fraud, or abuses our staff. Where money is owed to you, you'll still get it.

Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of [mulk / riyasat], and disputes will be dealt with by the courts there. If you're a consumer, this doesn't take away the protection of the mandatory laws of your own country.

Changes
We may update these terms. The version in force is the one published here when you place your order.
